ADVANCED OPEN WATER
SSI Advanced Open Water Diver is the next recognition rating on the path to becoming an SSI Master Diver, and includes four SSI Specialty program Digital Kits. After completing the four SSI Specialty programs that interest you, as well as 24 logged dives, you will automatically receive the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver recognition rating, along with your SSI Specialty program certifications.
SSI awards the Advanced Open Water Diver certification in recognition of your achievements, experience and formation. Minimum requirements for achieving this are completing four (4) speciality courses and having 24 logged dives.
Once all requirements have been met and the students profile has been updated on OdiN (including an up to date photo), the digital Advanced Open Water Diver certification card will be issued free of charge.
Certified Advanced Open Water Divers can dive alone with another diver who is certified to the same level or higher, of course taking into consideration the conditions and keeping to the depth which your training dictates.
Students under the age of 15 will be certified as Junior Advanced open Water Divers, they can dive under the direct supervision of an SSI dive professional or a certified adult, always taking into consideration the conditions and depth stipulated by their training.

STUDENT PREREQUISITES
Minimum age:
10 - 14 years old can get a certificate Junior Open Water
15 years old or more you can get a certificate Open Water Diver
CERTIFICATION
Upon completion of all academic and in-water requirements, including a water fitness evaluation and final exam, an Open Water Instructor may issue. the Open Water Diver digital certification card.

Certified Open Water Divers can dive with an equally- or more-qualified buddy in environments equivalent to their training and within the recommended depth limits.

Students younger than 15 years old will be certified as a Junior Open Water Diver and must dive under the direct supervision of a dive professional or with a certified adult in environments equivalent to their training and within the recommended depth limits.
